So every four years, many countries gather together to compete in the FIFA World Cup. This year the FIFA World Cup is taking place in one of the World’s most famous footballing countries, Brazil.

The Brazilians have a saying about football: ‘The English invented it, the Brazilians perfected it.’

Brazil is the most successful national football team in the history of the FIFA  World Cup, with five championship wins in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002.

Last year, Spain won the FIFA World Cup. But this year, Spain has disappointed their fans by losing to Chile 2-0. “It’s a sad day for all of us,” said the Spanish coach, Vincente Del Bosque. Now, Chile will continue in Group B against Netherlands, who has also qualified for the last 16. Spain has just played against Australia in Curitiba last Monday 14th of June. Which placed a smile on their fans’ faces with the score of 3-0.

But sadly Spain is now out of the competition.
